Pottery Class Changes!

More new things for 2023: Class Updates!
Please read for important changes to how pottery classes are booked.

I now will be hosting workshop-style classes once a month on specific projects. I will be posting dates for specific Workshops every month. For example, January’s Workshop was all about vases, February is Mardi Gras, and March will be clay marbling! Keep an eye out for all of our new monthly workshops!

I will also be hosting Pottery Wheel classes on specific days a few times per month. For each Pottery Wheel day, I will have time slots throughout the day that can be filled with individuals or groups up to 5. Large group classes (5 or more participants) can be booked separately, upon request. Birthday parties will also be booked separately from Pottery Wheel class days. Filling up specific days with pottery wheel sessions rather than scheduling classes here and there throughout the month will allow me to better spend my time and shorten wait times for classes and picking up your finished pottery.

Paint-Your-Own Pottery classes will still be booked by appointment every Tuesday-Saturday.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

We’re Moving (again)!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

This is a long one, there’s a summary at the bottom 😊

Our time at 105 S Adams has come to an end. Despite all the blood, sweat, and tears that myself, my family, and my friends have put into this beautiful historic building, the current owners are letting it deteriorate around us. I am deeply saddened at the mistreatment of what was once the shining jewel of a bustling downtown Welsh.

Now on to the good news: we will be rejoining the crew at Mercantile 54 and Mr. Clint’s! 🎉 If you have followed us for a while, you know that The Merc is where this small business took off, and we are excited to see what this change will bring! There are lots of plans in the works to bring you a better Jacques’ Pottery Shop. In fact, if there are things that you would like to see offered, drop us a comment with your suggestions!

We will start the moving process this week, and I don’t have a specific re-opening date just yet. If you have a class scheduled this week, I’ll be in touch! We should be able to host all of this weeks classes at our new (old) location.

Here’s to a fresh start! 🥂

TLDR; Jacques’ Pottery Shop is moving! We will be back at our original location, in the same building as Mercantile 54 and Mr. Clint’s!

Maternity Leave Updates

Hey y’all! As many of you already know, our newest addition will be here soon, which will lead to some temporary changes at the pottery shop.

As of now, I am not planning on taking maternity leave until I go into labor, so I do not have a specific start and stop date. Once I do start maternity leave, the shop will be closed for at least one week, then we will reopen with temporary shortened hours:
Tuesday: 10-2
Wednesday 10-4
Thursday 10-5
Friday 10-5
Saturday 11-4
Sunday-Monday: closed
Keep an eye out on our Facebook Page and Instagram (Jacques’ Pottery Shop) for the big announcement!

Classes
While I am away, my mom, Lorinda Roberie will be running the shop and hosting a variety of classes.
Pottery Wheel Classes are on a temporary hiatus until I get back, but you can join the waitlist by texting “Waitlist” and your name and phone number to (337)240-6104.

Follow-up Painting classes, Paint-Your-Own Pottery Classes, and Jewelry classes will still be available by appointment. To book any of these classes during my maternity leave, text me at (337) 240-6104 and let me know which class you’d like to book, dates and times that work with your schedule, and your name and contact information; or call Lorinda at (337) 452-9018 during business hours to book a class. You can also reach us via Facebook and Instagram.

Walk-In Paint-Your-Own Pottery Classes will be available on Thursdays-Fridays from 11am-1pm and 3pm-4pm
Saturdays 11-3
Walk-ins are first come, first served, and classes by appointment will take priority over walk-in classes.

COVID-19 Update and Coming Events

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, so I wanted to let you all know that I am still here! Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, there have been some major changes to my studio. First and foremost, while I am still in the same building, I moved locations! My studio is now located in the back right corner of our building (205 S Adams St). This new spot gives us more room to make and paint pottery! Secondly, as many of you already know, I am not currently able to host pottery wheel classes. I am hoping to resume pottery wheel classes as soon as the social-distancing order is lifted. I will make a post here on http://www.shelbyroberieceramics.com and on my Facebook and Instagram pages as soon as I get the green light to start scheduling classes again.

While we are on the subject of classes, I’d like to share my plan for tomorrow (June 6, 2020). Tomorrow I plan on doing pottery demonstrations from 1-4pm! Come on down and give me suggestions on what you’d like to see me make!

As a bonus for those of you who decide to come to the shop tomorrow, you’ll have the opportunity to be some of the first to sign up for the Paint-Your-Own-Pottery classes (since the COVID shutdown)! The classes will begin as early as next Wednesday (June 10, 2020) for those who sign up in the studio tomorrow! Regular scheduling will begin next week.

I hope to see y’all there!

It’s Been a Busy Week

Hello everyone!

I’m writing this post mainly to say a huge thank you to everyone who has come out to the new studio to support me! I also wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about what I’ve been up to this week.

Shelby Roberie Ceramics just got a brand new studio and store in Welsh. My Grand Opening was last Saturday, July 20th. Since then, I’ve been working to get new things on the shelves and start planning my Fall series. I’ve also hosted my first event, “Spinning With Shelby.” For this event, I had several students come to the studio for 20 minute sessions to try their hand at pottery. I am hoping to host similar events in the future, as well as paint-your-own pottery classes and jewelry workshops.

Another great thing that happened this week is that I was featured on the KPLC Midday Show. It was a great experience and I hope to be able to return to the show in the future.

I have a few other things up my sleeve, but I’ll have to save that for the next update!

Once again, thank you to everyone who has come to the new studio in the past week, and I hope to see you again soon!

Big News!

I’m so excited to announce that Shelby Roberie Ceramics is opening our own store! The store will be located at 205 S Adams St. in Welsh, inside Mercantile 54 Trading Co. and Mr. Clint’s.

Those of you who have been following along on this journey know that I’ve had work on consignment at Mercantile 54 for about a year now. But soon I’ll be opening my own small business alongside Mercantile 54 and Mr. Clint’s! I couldn’t be more thrilled to open my new store with the love and support of my family, friends, and my new work family!

Shelby Roberie Ceramics’s Grand Opening will be on Saturday, July 20th. Come join us to see some brand new pottery and enjoy some refreshments.

Stay tuned, there will be more announcements to come!
