It’s been a while since I’ve posted, so I wanted to let you all know that I am still here! Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, there have been some major changes to my studio. First and foremost, while I am still in the same building, I moved locations! My studio is now located in the back right corner of our building (205 S Adams St). This new spot gives us more room to make and paint pottery! Secondly, as many of you already know, I am not currently able to host pottery wheel classes. I am hoping to resume pottery wheel classes as soon as the social-distancing order is lifted. I will make a post here on http://www.shelbyroberieceramics.com and on my Facebook and Instagram pages as soon as I get the green light to start scheduling classes again.
While we are on the subject of classes, I’d like to share my plan for tomorrow (June 6, 2020). Tomorrow I plan on doing pottery demonstrations from 1-4pm! Come on down and give me suggestions on what you’d like to see me make!
As a bonus for those of you who decide to come to the shop tomorrow, you’ll have the opportunity to be some of the first to sign up for the Paint-Your-Own-Pottery classes (since the COVID shutdown)! The classes will begin as early as next Wednesday (June 10, 2020) for those who sign up in the studio tomorrow! Regular scheduling will begin next week.
I’m writing this post mainly to say a huge thank you to everyone who has come out to the new studio to support me! I also wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about what I’ve been up to this week.
Shelby Roberie Ceramics just got a brand new studio and store in Welsh. My Grand Opening was last Saturday, July 20th. Since then, I’ve been working to get new things on the shelves and start planning my Fall series. I’ve also hosted my first event, “Spinning With Shelby.” For this event, I had several students come to the studio for 20 minute sessions to try their hand at pottery. I am hoping to host similar events in the future, as well as paint-your-own pottery classes and jewelry workshops.
Another great thing that happened this week is that I was featured on the KPLC Midday Show. It was a great experience and I hope to be able to return to the show in the future.
I have a few other things up my sleeve, but I’ll have to save that for the next update!
Once again, thank you to everyone who has come to the new studio in the past week, and I hope to see you again soon!
I’m so excited to announce that Shelby Roberie Ceramics is opening our own store! The store will be located at 205 S Adams St. in Welsh, inside Mercantile 54 Trading Co. and Mr. Clint’s.
Those of you who have been following along on this journey know that I’ve had work on consignment at Mercantile 54 for about a year now. But soon I’ll be opening my own small business alongside Mercantile 54 and Mr. Clint’s! I couldn’t be more thrilled to open my new store with the love and support of my family, friends, and my new work family!
Shelby Roberie Ceramics’s Grand Opening will be on Saturday, July 20th. Come join us to see some brand new pottery and enjoy some refreshments.
Stay tuned, there will be more announcements to come!
This Friday, February 22, is the formal opening for the McNeese student and alumni ceramic exhibition “Past and Present.” The exhibition features a variety of ceramic artists, some students at McNeese State University and some alumni.
The exhibition is on display now through April 26th at 1911 Historic City Hall in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The work spans from sculptural to functional and many of the works are for sale.
The opening is from 5:30-8pm and many of the artists will be present. Come celebrate with us and help support local arts and artists.
It has come to my attention that my shop was creating some shipping issues (overcharging for shipping, etc.) So to fix this issue, I’ve decided to open an Etsy shop.
By using Etsy, I can guarantee accurate shipping prices and ship worldwide. I’m excited about this change and can’t wait to start shipping out your orders!
Don’t forget, there are TWO giveaways going on!
The first five people to order from my Etsy shop will be entered to win a free mug, AND Every order $35 and over from now until Valentines Day (Feb 14, 2019) will contain a FREE pair of earrings (while supplies last).
Click the link below or in the “Shop” tab in the main menu to head over to my Etsy shop.
