Starting Dec 7th, we will be doing Walk-Ins every Saturday from 10am-5pm!

Please note that because we make our inventory here at Jacques’ Pottery Shop, our PYOP selection is always changing, so there may be different items available at different times. If you are looking for a specific item, please contact us to reserve your piece. Not all items are available for walk-ins, such as our Christmas Trees.

Pottery Book Club: December 2024

After our first pottery book club was such a success, I’m incredibly excited for our next meeting!

We will be meeting on December 13th, 5-7pm to paint pottery and discuss the book The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore. Spots are limited so head over to the classes tab and follow the booking link to reserve your spot online, or send us an email!

A bit about the book:

The Pumpkin Spice Café is a small-town romance novel by Laurie Gilmore. The book is about Jeanie, who inherits the Pumpkin Spice Café from her aunt and moves to the small town of Dream Harbor. There, she meets Logan, a local farmer who is initially annoyed by Jeanie’s upbeat personality. However, the two eventually find themselves drawn to each other.

A perfect fall read that feels like Gilmore Girls and Hallmark movies! Please note that this is a romance novel and does have a bit of ✨spice✨

Can’t wait to hear what you think of the book!

Book summary:

Molly Gray is a dedicated maid at the Regency Grand Hotel, where she finds immense joy in her job, particularly in returning messy rooms to a state of perfection. Her love for cleaning is palpable, and she takes pride in the well-stocked maid’s trolley with all its cleaning supplies. However, Molly’s passion for cleanliness doesn’t translate into an understanding of social cues or the ability to navigate relationships.
Molly is considered odd by her co-workers, who don’t share her enthusiasm for their work. Her closest friend, her grandmother, has passed away, leaving her feeling alone. Molly is also easily deceived by cunning individuals.
One day, when Molly enters the penthouse suite to clean, she discovers the most prestigious hotel guest, Mr. Black, has been murdered. Due to a series of comically unfortunate events, Molly becomes the prime suspect in the murder investigation, leading to a scandal that not only threatens the hotel’s reputation but also her own livelihood. 🧹♥️

Later in November, we will be teaming up with Cajun Coffee Bean for two coffee themed workshops!

Workshop 1 will be 10am-12pm on November 30th. We will be using two types of clay and marbling them together on the potters wheel to make a mug while enjoying freshly brewed coffee from Cajun Coffee Bean!

Workshop 2 will be 2pm-4pm on November 30th. We will be painting ceramic coffee mugs that we have pre-made at the pottery shop while enjoying Cajun Coffee Bean!

Both workshops are $45 per person, and spots are limited.

We have lots of classes and workshops planned for December, stay tuned to learn more!

Pottery Boot Camp

Do your goals for 2024 include starting (or expanding) on new hobbies? Let me tell you about Pottery Boot Camp!

Boot Camp is a 6-week course, each session is 2 hours. We will cover the following topics:
Centering clay on the wheel
Throwing basic forms
Attaching handles
Basic and advanced surface design/glazing
Throwing plates/saucers
Throwing lidded vessels

We will be offering two separate sessions for Beginner Boot Camp, one on Fridays 2-4pm and one on Saturdays 11-1. Group sizes will be very small so that everyone gets the hands-on help that is required to learn clay.

Boot Camp is $300 total, which is a $150 discount from our normal hourly rate for classes!

No experience necessary, but if you’ve taken classes with me before, your previous skills will come in handy!
